Jark Joint Ventures helps set up another recruitment business

Universal Personnel, a new recruitment agency, has opened its doors in Northampton this month with the backing of Jark – a top national recruitment company.

The new recruitment business is a Jark Joint Venture which is led by managing director Richard Thompson. Richard is a recruitment expert with more than 16 years of experience in the industry.

Universal Personnel, which specialises in both Driving and Industrial recruitment, provides both temporary and permanent staff to businesses in and around Northampton.

Richard’s experience in recruitment means that he is best placed to start his own agency. Richard decided to make the move to start his own business after being Driving Director of HRGO for many years.

Richard said: “I have worked in the recruitment industry for many years and wanted to start my own business with its own branding, identity and values. I have an exceptional background in Driving and Industrial recruitment which is why I have chosen to start a specialist recruitment business, rather than generalist.”

Universal Personnel is not a franchise but part of a series of national joint ventures launched at the beginning of last year, which give recruitment entrepreneurs the practical and financial support they need to launch their own business anywhere in the UK.

David Simons, Jark Joint Ventures managing director, said: “It’s great to have Richard on board as a new joint venture partner. He has the knowledge and experience to run a highly successful and professional recruitment business in an area he knows well.

“I ensure that he is supported with the HR, IT, payroll and accounts and PR and marketing support that many new recruitment businesses do not have when they first start out in the market, often with negative consequences.”

John Buckman, Jark Joint Ventures chairman and also the joint founder of Jark plc, launched Jark Joint Ventures in 2011 to eliminate back office burdens to allow entrepreneurs like Richard to develop their own business and focus on what they are good at, sales and development.
