Spectrum HR Pitches In For Bike For Bobby

Bike For Bobby will see ex NUFC player Robbie Elliott and Phil Gray cycle from Lisbon to Newcastle via Porto, Eindhoven, Barcelona, Ipswich and London (Fulham and Wembley) as they pay tribute to Sir Bobby Robson and his incredible work as a football manager of international repute.

Travelling more than 3,500 miles in less than four weeks Robbie and Phil aim to raise thousands of pounds for the Foundation’s chosen charities including breakthrough breast cancer and local recruitment business Spectrum HR MD Brent Pitcher was quick to endorse this by handing over a cheque for &pound500:00.

Phil has been instrumental in helping Robbie get used to being back in the saddle, whilst Nick Grantham has helped Robbie get his fitness levels to where they need to be for the challenging task.

“The ambitious plan is to cover an average of 150 miles a day finishing, of course, at Sir Bobby’s spiritual home of Newcastle United,” said Robbie.

“The problem was I hadn’t ridden a bike since I was a kid and didn’t even have a bike when this started! “But Phil has taken on the dual task of getting me fit for action and joining me on what will be the journey of a lifetime.”
