The Recruitment International Fantasy League

Sponsored By Futura Rec2Rec - Gameweek 7 review

With the big guns misfiring this week the usual crew suffered a little with only 2nd placed Antonio Lera managing more than 60 points, saved by having Ivanovic as his captain. Antonio is still persisting with Lukaku up front but with the Baggies' man only playing for 29 minutes we can't see this continuing after the international break. Antonio also had Jose Fonte but only on the bench. Hardest, Antonio.

Darren Curtis had a great week scoring 77 points taking him to 5th place helped an inspired choice of Spurs' defender Steven Caulker who scored him 15 points. Darren was, with Rullion's Ben Wilcox, the week's leading scorer both helped by choosing Torres as their captain. This week's total has enabled Ben, like his mate Sunmade Olukoga (see below) to get off page two of the league.

Also in this week's top ten of the week were three teams from Bauhaus (Stuart Burton, Mark Keevins and Jack Wilcox). There must have been something in the water in Manchester last week.

Still top is Wilde and Partner's Dave Cattell who hung onto first place with a distinctly average performance from his whole team save for Ivanovic. Dave's front line of Ba, Suarez and Defoe brought him a mere 9 points last week. Maybe he should have had the odd Liverpool defender in there?

Inspirational Manager of the Week

Pari Passu's Sunmade Olukoga was one of the few managers in the whole global league to pick Southampton's Jose Fonte. Just 1.5 % of managers have the defender in their squad so it was a piece of genius for Sunmade to pick him in his actual team. Fonte has started every game for Southampton and not got so much as an assist or a clean sheet before his two goals against Fulham on Sunday. His inclusion helped Sunmade rise from page two of our league to a respectable 23rd place. Well done Sunmade.

Taxi for...........

Brad Friedel

After 310 consecutive EPL appearances its a shame to see the great man take 2nd spot but the arrival of &pound12m summer signing, Hugo Lloris was bound to knock him down the pecking order eventually.
