Irish healthcare recruitment specialists looking to fill 2,000 posts in 2013

TTM Healthcare will host largest ever healthcare sector jobs fair next week at Red Cow Moran Hotel

Up to 700 of the 2,000 posts will be based in Ireland

Ireland’s only specialist healthcare recruitment company TTM Healthcare has announced the biggest ever jobs fair for the sector as it looks to fill a minimum of 2,000 posts in 2013.

The Irish company will hold its 2013 Jobs Expo at the Red Cow Moran Hotel on Wednesday 14th November when hundreds of healthcare professionals will put their names forward for the 2,000 plus posts the company needs to fill here and abroad next year.

Among the posts, the majority of which will be for doctors, nurses and allied health professionals, will be a minimum of 700 positions in Ireland.  A significant portion of these will be nursing and care posts in non-acute centres for elderly and psychiatric care as well as for people with disabilities and home care packages.

The remaining 1,300 or so positions will be offered in a range of attractive international markets, including the UK, Germany, Europe, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.

Overall, the company is seeking candidates for some 400 plus nursing positions, mostly in Ireland and the UK.   It will also need to fill 500 doctors’ posts, with the vast bulk of these in international locations such as Germany, the Middle East and Australia.

Another 400 candidates are required for the Allied Health sector (Radiography, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology and Medical Science) mostly in the UK thanks to TTM’s recent appointment as the only Irish recruiter that can supply permanent staff and locums to all NHS Trusts and Hospitals in the UK.

Remuneration packages across the 2,000 plus permanent and locum positions will range from &euro12.57 per hour for care worker posts right up to &euro350,000 per annum for Hospital Director positions.

Speaking ahead of the Jobs Expo, TTM Healthcare founder and Chief Executive Brian Crowley said that the need to find so many Irish candidates for posts across the sector in 2013 is largely down to the international reputation of Irish healthcare professionals as being amongst the best in the world.

“We are engaged by hundreds of hospitals and medical care centres across the globe and they are so keen on the Irish market due to the standard of healthcare professionals this country consistently provides.

“Look at the Middle East for example.   They will be offering packages for nurses and doctors that you simply could not get anywhere else in the world packages that include income-tax free premium salaries, free flights each year over and back to Ireland, free accommodation and sometimes free education for children.

“The reason they offer such attractive packages is because they believe the quality of candidate that comes over from Ireland to be among the best in the world and they are willing to go the extra mile to get those candidates.

“Not all the jobs we are looking to fill will be abroad as over 30% of the 2,000 posts will be in Ireland, mostly in the private sector of course so the perception that there are no jobs here for Irish healthcare professionals is a misnomer.

“The reality is, however, that current economic conditions here mean that many healthcare professionals will have to look abroad next year.  Many of them will want to anyway for the experience and the financial return and thanks to their international reputation, they can pretty much pick and choose where they want to work.  Few other sectors have that option.”
