Christmas Comes Early at Children’s Cancer Ward, Bristol thanks to Omega Resource Group
Many of us eagerly welcome the arrival of the Christmas season, but for some families with poorly children it can be a very difficult time indeed.
So Omega Resource Group decided that as it’s the traditional time for giving, this year instead of sending the usual Christmas gifts to clients, they would instead deliver some festive cheer to the Oncology Ward at Bristol Children’s Hospital.
James Strickland, MD, comments “As one of the fastest growing recruitment companies in the UK we wanted to put something back into the community this year. Bristol Children’s Hospital is very close to our heart and we became aware that many toys on the ward were either broken or very old. With children having to spend months in hospital undergoing treatment, often miles away from home, toys are a much needed distraction”.
“A staggering £1400 was raised at the recent Omega Christmas party, attended by staff, clients and suppliers, and to ensure that the children had the best possible Christmas, the company then contributed an extra £1000, to round this figure up to £2500 – which bought 4 large trolley loads of toys, TV’s, DVD, games and fun!”
James returned to the hospital on Monday 17 December 2012 to present the toys, delighting staff, parents and patients. We wish them all a safe and happy Christmas.
