Outstanding First Year for Brighton Start-up
Outstanding First Year for Brighton Start-up as it Wins & lsquo; Most Promising New Business’ and Major Industry Figure Joins the Board!
It’s been a hugely impressive first year of trading for the innovative new Brighton-based recruitment consultancy, Classic Consulting. This outstanding first year has culminated with the strategic appointment of a senior and well respected industry figure, Angela Potter, as a new director of the company and with Classic Consulting being awarded the title of the & lsquo; Most Promising New Business’ in the Sussex Business Awards.
During a fantastic first year the company has made significant impression on the local business community working with over 100 regional clients, filling more than 200 permanent positions and having an average of 100 temporary staff a week out on assignment.
Classic Consulting’s founder, recruitment industry specialist Denise Buchan, is understandably delighted with how the first year has gone and the impact the company has already made on the Brighton and wider regional business sector.
“It’s been a fantastic, albeit crazy, first year of trading where we’ve exceeded all our expectations and are well ahead of plan with an anticipated turnover in excess of £1m. Furthermore, in addition to our Brighton head office, we’ve already opened a further satellite office in Crawley and expect to open our first London office in 2013.
“None of this would have been possible without the hard work and support of our great team at Classic Consulting and we have already added several highly experienced consultants and support staff over the course of the year. To cope with this current and anticipated growth,” Denise added, “I’m also delighted to announce that we have just recruited a new director, Angela Potter, to further strengthen our senior management team.”
Having spent the last 13 years working for some of the region’s largest recruitment businesses where she was consistently the highest performing consultant, Angela is one of the most experienced, successful and respected recruitment professionals in Sussex and will help manage the growth and strategic direction of the Brighton-based permanent team. “Angela represents the epitome of a professional recruitment consultant and reflects all of the quality values we cherish. I fully expect her to add an exciting new dynamic to the Classic Consulting team at this key moment in our history,” Denise said.
“I’ve been hugely impressed by what Denise and the team have done in just one year at Classic Consulting,” added Angela. “Above all, they have made a fantastic commercial success of the business whilst simultaneously creating a new standard of excellence for the recruitment industry in the region. I’m thrilled to be joining them and am looking forward to the challenges and thrills ahead.”
Standards and Ethics
Commenting further on the astonishing success of the new company, Denise said: “A year ago we stated that we were creating this innovative new recruitment business to bring fresh thinking and behaviour to an industry that is often seen as tired, tainted and, frankly, often pretty mediocre and in need of some refreshment. I think we’ve delivered! Of course, it’s an ongoing process but we have invested in new standards and the necessary tools and skills to ensure long term relationship building rather than the short term thinking that is prevalent in many recruitment businesses today.”
Classic Consulting is rapidly setting new standards in customer service and delivery with this commitment to long term client and candidate relationships. “Our mantra is one of & lsquo;integrity first’ (Classic Consulting is a member of the Institute of Business Ethics) and at the heart of our company is an absolute commitment to ethical standards and integrity with clients, candidates and colleagues,” continued Denise.
“We are simply giving the customer what they want when they want it. We’re genuinely available to clients 24/7 and like to think that we are working while others sleep. The fact that more than 50% of our new business already comes from recommendation demonstrates that our fresh, innovative approach is genuinely being well received by clients and candidates alike.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their support this year,” concluded Denise. “Truly innovative and hard working businesses will thrive despite any recession and we have proved that the market for something truly different in recruitment exists and 2012 was just the beginning. Watch this space!”
