Best Companies awards top marks to Spencer Ogden

Spencer Ogden has been awarded 3-Star & lsquo;Best Companies’ accreditation for 2013. The highest rank available, 3-Star status means the company has been deemed an extraordinary place to work, with excellent work practices and employee care.

Founded in 2010, this was the first year the global energy recruitment agency was eligible to apply for the accolade.

Spencer Ogden CEO, David Spencer-Percival, comments: “We are thrilled to be recognised in this way. At Spencer Ogden, we place great emphasis on workplace culture. We want to make Spencer Ogden a company our employees can be proud to work for. A 3-Star accreditation confirms we have succeeded in doing this.”

The information gathered by workplace engagement specialists, Best Companies, is based on the responses of staff who are asked about their workplace experience and relationship with their employers. Although final figures have not yet been released for 2013, in 2012, 1082 companies were surveyed and only 113 achieved 3-Star accreditation.

Spencer Ogden finds out in March if it has also been listed in the & lsquo;Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For’ directory.

In addition to recognition from Best Companies, Spencer Ogden has been named & lsquo;Outstanding Fast-Growth Business’ at the Global Business Excellence Awards.

Commenting on the award, Andrew Areoff, chairman of the judges, says: "Spencer Ogden has established itself in the market leading position for recruitment in the energy industry sectors. Turnover has increased seven-fold, as have profits, and the specialist recruitment consultancy is expanding around the world. David Spencer-Percival and Sir Peter Ogden deserve to be congratulated for spotting a business opportunity and making it work so successfully in such a short time. Spencer Ogden is a fantastic business success story."

“2013 is an important year for Spencer Ogden,” says Spencer-Percival. “Up until now we’ve been a small start-up business, but our growth in the last year, and acknowledgments such as these, indicate that we are now entering a new phase.”
