Darwin Recruitment & lsquo;Tough Guy’ team raises £4,400 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
A recruitment team at Darwin braved freezing conditions to raise money for Children.
Tough Guy is a very & lsquo;tough’ assault course and last weekend on the 27th January, just as many people were tucking into their Sunday roast, a team of Darwin mud lovers successfully completed the challenge raising £4,400 for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). www.darwinrecruitment.com/about-us/fundraising-for-gosh/ .
Tough Guy is staged over a course of eight country miles. It consists of a gruelling mud run followed by “The Killing Fields” assault course where the team endured barbed wire, electric shocks, cuts, scrapes, burns and hypothermia. Talking of the course one member described it as “Horrific”, another, “You have it in your head that this is really dangerous, they even pulled the security divers out”. The Darwin team endured a slow and painful journey across countryside in waters of minus ten from the snowmelt and through obstacles that took them into mud, under freezing water, and into fire.
The team leader Dan Mulholland, CDO and joint founder of Darwin said “I’m really proud of the Darwin team. We had people from our Amsterdam office and from London. Everyone who took part in this trained for many months and we trained as a team when we could. Yes it was daunting and painful but worth it. It wasn’t about us but about the children. We’ve raised a significant amount of money for a GOSH project and we are very pleased about that”.
