Staffgroup Launches Recruitment Essentials Academy

Staffgroup Launches Recruitment Essentials Academy

As a specialist and highly-successful group of recruitment consultancies, it should be no surprise that we have a stringent recruitment process here at Staffgroup to ensure we secure the best and brightest graduates. This process includes performing a thorough analysis as to which business unit, be it Earthstaff, Eurostaff Finance or Eurostaff Technology, we feel they will excel in.

However, even the best and brightest graduates are often somewhat unprepared for the world of recruitment. That’s why we’ve launched & lsquo;Recruitment Essentials’ – a three-month fast-track talent academy for new joiners designed to equip them with the necessary skills for finding the best candidates for the right roles as quickly as possible.

New hires joining the & lsquo;Recruitment Essentials’ programme can expect to develop their knowledge via a blended learning approach comprising classroom-based training, group activities, implementation of the theory, and regular skill and competency assessments. A major part of this programme is geared at allowing new recruits to explore and develop their sales skills. We won’t just cover the basics of how to get started, but will focus on the longer term skills that a fully-rounded recruitment professional should have –from pitching our services to clients and candidates, to consultative  selling  and becoming a  trusted advisor.

The world of recruitment is changing rapidly and we need to be able to up-skill our employees quickly and effectively to ensure Staffgroup’s business goals are achieved. By giving new hires a solid foundation, & lsquo;Recruitment Essentials’ will not only mean they are well equipped to tackle the complex challenges recruitment entails, but set them on the road to a long and rewarding career.

New hires will be continuously assessed throughout the programme. Firstly, they will need to demonstrate their sector understanding. Our consultants are successful because they know their sector inside out, so the quicker new hires can get to grips with this, the faster they will be adding value to our clients. Next, they will be required to show awareness and skill in business development , as well as their ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships and manage candidates.

Naturally, a recruiter’s need for training does not end at graduate level. We’ll also be running an & lsquo;Consultants Academy’ and an & lsquo;Advanced Consultants Academy’ for those who have been with us for 6-18 months. The & lsquo;Advanced Consultants Academy’ will be a six-month programme that runs alongside a consultant’s day-to-day work, and again comprises a blend of classroom-based training, group activities, implementation, and on-going assessment. Individuals completing the & lsquo;Advanced Consultants Academy’ will be in a strong position to contribute to the growth of Staffgroup and the aims of the business, as well as enabling them to move into senior roles.

The problem with many training programmes is that the course covers all the right topics, but misses out the vital implementation stage, where consultants get to put what they have learned into practise in a risk-free and assessed environment. At Staffgroup, we feel that implementation of the theory is a critical part of the learning process and this is reflected throughout our newly launched academies.
