Search and Interim Management consultancy Veredus increases focus on private sector

Veredus, the executive recruitment arm of business process management and outsourcing group, Capita plc, is ramping up its capability in key areas of the private sector.

The company has made a number of strategic hires to bring new expertise into its existing teams and in addition to its four public sector and third sector Practices, will now be operating through eight private sector Practices devoted to the following areas:

Telecoms, media and technology (TMT)

Asset and wealth management

Energy and the built environment

Manufacturing and infrastructure

Life sciences

SME and private equity backed enterprises Business services

Veredus, which has operations in London, Leeds, Manchester and Edinburgh, will continue to concentrate on permanent roles at the senior leadership level, but will also develop its well-established  interim management offering, particularly in the manufacturing and infrastructure and life sciences areas. It will continue to offer clients tailored assessment and development services at executive and Board level.

“Despite the fact that the UK economy has been in the doldrums for several years, McKinsey’s infamous war for talent is still a reality when it comes to identifying and sourcing the sort of people who make things happen at leadership level,” says Veredus’s Managing Director, Jerry Gray. “At the same time, the increasing confidence we are detecting among our clients has led us to share Mervyn King’s guarded optimism about recovery. Consequently we believe this is exactly the right time to invest in strengthening our capabilities across the private sector.”

“We’ve succeeded in attracting some very high profile figures in their respective fields, including Damian Brown and Andrew Fisher from the TMT arena, Aaron Webster and Richard Beesley within energy, infrastructure and manufacturing, Russell Adam, Jim Paterson and Hannah Mayfield specialising in asset and wealth management, Perry Evans in life sciences and a highly respected consultant and commentator on the transport sector in the person of Alex Warner. And this is just the beginning of a build up of talent that will continue throughout 2013.”
