TARGETjobs Breakfast News starts its sixth year on the back of record attendances

TARGETjobs Breakfast News is delighted to have renewed its partnership with Work Group for the third consecutive year to present a varied and stimulating series of events in 2013. Last year saw record attendances and the event continues to grow in popularity and influence.

TARGETjobs Breakfast News was created in 2008 to bring graduate recruiters, recruitment agencies and universities together, over a full English breakfast, to listen to high quality input, discuss the issues of the day and to network with fellow professionals. Over 200 people attend each time, making Breakfast News the most significant and respected regular gathering of the graduate recruitment community in the UK.

The quality of the input is assured by the involvement of the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) and especially their CEO Carl Gilleard, and by the valuable contribution of Work Group whose array of talented speakers invest serious time into research created exclusively for, and launched at, every Breakfast News.  Brand new for 2013 is a regular economic update from former HSBC chief economist Dennis Turner.

In addition, each event also benefits from having a keynote speaker, often from outside the industry, to share a different perspective on the issues around attraction, marketing and recruitment. Over the past few years, TARGETjobs Breakfast News has welcomed as guest speakers Wayne Hemingway, Ken Livingstone, Michael Portillo and many others.

There will be five TARGETjobs Breakfast News events in 2013, each with a different theme that is both timely and relevant for the members of the audience. The first Breakfast News takes place on 28 February in London and is entitled & lsquo;Getting your message across’. Subsequent events will include the importance of STEM graduates, social media and effective selection.

GTI Media Director and the host of every Breakfast News since 2008, Simon Rogers says: “It’s testament to the quality of these events, the slick organisation by the team at GTI and the great content delivered by our speakers, that in its sixth year, Breakfast News remains as popular as ever. Our exciting partnership with Work Group means we will continue to attract hundreds of graduate recruiters to our five events in 2013.”

Head of Work Resourcing Sandeep Bhandal says: “We are very pleased to be working with TARGETjobs for a third year to deliver insightful and thought-provoking market leading events.  Breakfast News enables Work Group and TARGETjobs to share best practice and innovative thinking as well as providing the opportunity for the UK graduate community to discuss current resourcing issues, generate ideas and share knowledge with peers as well as highly respected speakers from a variety of industries.  We are looking forward to another great year.”
