WorkPlaceLive showcases how cloud computing can help recruitment firms at the Recruitment Agency Expo
Stand 38 at London Olympia, 26 & 27 February 2013
WorkPlaceLive, a UK based IT provider who specialise in hosted desktop, cloud computing services is exhibiting at this month’s Recruitment Agency Expo (www.recruitmentagencyexpo.com) at London Olympia. The company will be presenting and discussing how its cloud based hosted desktop services is helping recruitment firms reduce IT costs and improved efficiencies at stand 38.
WorkPlaceLive has several clients in the recruitment sector who have benefitted from adopting a hosted desktop service including Nicholson International, Oasis HR, Atlantic Executive Search and Vanquish Recruitment International.
David Sturges, Chief Commercial officer at WorkPlaceLive says, “This is the first time we have exhibited at the Recruitment Agency Expo and we are looking forward to speaking with recruitment firms about the benefits of moving to the cloud. The recruitment industry is highly competitive and companies need to look for ways of improving their performance and business.
“One way of doing this is by improving their IT and moving to a more flexible, scalable cloud-based solution. For many, it is helping them expand their business in the UK and overseas, improve their IT performance and business efficiencies. We look forward to meeting prospective clients and discussing how hosted desktop services work and the benefits they offer,” adds Mr Sturges.
Analysts are forecasting significant growth rates for cloud-based business services with annual growth in excess of 34% in 2013, culminating in a global market value of $150 billion. Currently, around 70% of organisations are using some form of cloud computing and this trend is set to continue.
Two recruitment firms who have taken the leap and moved to the cloud are Atlantic Executive Search and Oasis HR – both for different reasons.
Atlantic Executive Search is a small business with four recruitments consultants working from a London office. Before adopting hosted desktops, the consultants used laptops or office computers but didn’t have professional IT systems or support in place. This meant that when they experienced problems they had to call out an external support company which proved costly and caused delays. Since moving to a hosted desktop service, the company has to reassurance it can call WorkPlaceLive for telephone support within an hour, plus it has all the latest software in place and backups and disaster recovery which are managed on its behalf.
Simon Healy, managing director of Atlantic Executive Search says: “Moving to hosted desktops has changed the way we work and the services we can offer to our clients. It has made life easier for everyone.”
Oasis HR on the other hand was looking to expand internationally. The company is a fast growing HR recruitment agency that focuses on the harder to reach, & lsquo;non available’ pool of HR talent. In 2011 the company’s directors wanted to expand the business into the USA and Asia by developing a network of exclusive strategic partnerships in these countries.
For this to happen, everyone needed to work in the same way, and key to this was being able to access the same IT systems from any location, including the CRM database and talent management software. This would enable information to be shared in real time and the same working processes to be adopted by the partners to ensure a high quality and consistent service for clients. Oasis HR realised the most logical progression would be to move away from a local IT server supported by an external provider and adopt a cloud-based, hosted model instead.
Jeremy Thornton, Director at Oasis HR said, “We were looking to move onto a web-based platform capable of supporting an international office infrastructure,” explained Jeremy Thornton. “Our goal was to expand overseas into Asia and the USA and we needed a single server platform to be able to scale the business very quickly.”
“Since migrating to hosted desktops we have improved our IT infrastructure and added a degree of operational efficiency we didn’t have before. Things run so much more smoothly and we think that is a small price to pay to receive such high business valuein return.”
