APSCo to host members meeting with BIS

The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) is hosting a members meeting with The Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) later this month to further explore the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations review.

Taking place on Thursday 21st March at 3pm, this meeting will see BIS offering its  thoughts on how to differentiate the highly paid limited company contractors, from the lower-paid more vulnerable sectors.

Chaired by Ann Swain, CEO of APSCo, the event will include:

Budget Summary – Taking place the day after the budget, John Chaplin, Director of Human Capital at Ernst & Young LLP will summarise the changes and what they mean for recruitment businesses.

The Conduct Regulations Review - The Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) will explain its objectives for the review and summarise the thinking behind the consultation.

Reforming the regulatory framework for staffing companies – Sam Hurley, External Relationship Manager at APSCo will update members on APSCo’ s involvement with the BIS consultation and summarise the thoughts of the APSCo working group so far.

Panel discussion - Chaired by APSCo CEO Ann Swain, the panel discussion provides an opportunity for direct engagement between APSCo members, BIS and the Employment Agencies Standards Inspectorate (EAS). Panel members will include:

Dr. Robert Porteus, Head of Strategy, Labour Market Directorate, BIS

Caroline Daly, Senior Policy Adviser for the Labour Market Directorate, BIS 

Gaynor Ithell, Deputy Director, Labour Market Directorate, BIS
