Capita Joins Forces To Help Ex-Solders

Capita’s resourcing business is partnering with ForceSelect, a specialist recruitment consultancy for service leavers and working veterans, to help identify career opportunities for people exiting the armed forces.

The aim of the partnership is to help ex-military personnel find employment and to readjust to civilian life through ForceSelect’s pastoral care service. Potential employment will be sought through Capita’s resourcing business, which recruits across all industry sectors with the partnership primarily focused on clients operating in the nuclear industry and central/ local government. The open-ended partnership intends to find jobs for and support around 100 ex-service personnel annually.

Nicola McQueen, managing director for Capita’s resourcing business, said: “Ex-service personnel are highly skilled and professional individuals, often with a diverse range of abilities and excellent communication and leadership skills.

“Over the last couple of years, against a backdrop of a significant engineering skills shortage, we’ve experienced an increase in demand for highly skilled professionals across the majority of the technical and engineering industries we operate in.  This partnership will allow clients to benefit from a supply of quality candidates with the wide variety of capabilities they need, while bringing job opportunities to talented people leaving the armed forces.”

Hugh Andr&eacutee, CEO of ForceSelect, said: “Progressive employers appreciate the many benefits of recruiting ex-service personnel. We look forward to working with Capita to help service leavers find meaningful employment and transition successfully to civilian life.”

Established in 2009, ForceSelect has placed in excess of 400 candidates in roles across the UK in a diverse range of sectors including retail, transport, logistics, oil and gas, financial services and engineering.
