Yorkshire recruitment director promoted to national role

A recruitment director who has led an industrial labour provider’s Yorkshire operation for the past four years has been promoted to a national role.

Matthew Hull, Yorkshire regional director at Gap Personnel, is now the industrial recruitment agency’s operations director (east UK).

As part of his newly-expanded role, the native Yorkshireman and Sheffield resident will oversee the ongoing growth of Gap’s existing South East operation and the entire & lsquo;east UK’ region, which runs along the A1 corridor.

The 38-year-old will maintain control over the Yorkshire region that, under his leadership, has grown to become one of Gap’s top three regions by turnover.

Matthew joined gap in May 2009, having previously worked for Adecco as well as a national medical recruiter and an independent agency based in Yorkshire.

Today, Gap’s Yorkshire region has high-street branches in Leeds, Sheffield and Castleford and a network of on-site operations at large manufacturing firms across the county.

Gap supplies temporary workers to some of Yorkshire’s biggest manufacturing, food production, recycling and waste management firms.

The company’s specialist driving division, Driving Force, has a hub in Wakefield.

Matthew said: “As a Yorkshire lad with a working-class background, I’m really proud of my achievements at Gap.

“This promotion is a fantastic honour and also a great opportunity. I plan to replicate the success we’ve had in Yorkshire across the entire east UK region.

“I would like to thank every member of the fantastic team I’ve had around me in Yorkshire for the past few years.

“Without their hard work, skill and enthusiasm the Yorkshire operation would be nowhere today.”

Nationally, Gap Personnel employs more than 200 members of staff, places and payrolls 7,000 temporary workers a week, and in 2012 provided staffing solutions to nearly 1,200 clients.

Group turnover for 2012 was &pound72m – an increase of 19% on the previous year.
