The Best Connection Group Expands Training Function

Leading Flexible Workforce Management Company, The Best Connection, has expanded its training function with the appointment of Richard Owen.  Owen, who has gained eight years’ experience in various roles within the business, will take up his new position based at the company’s Headquarters in Halesowen, Birmingham.

“I am delighted to be joining The Best Connection’s Training Department.  I have been fortunate to work in many areas of the organisation and I believe that these experiences will be invaluable in relating to the day to day successes and challenges faced by the delegates.  I’m looking forward to helping develop people through the Foundation programme as well as the Customer Service and Business Administration NVQ Programmes,” said Richard Owen.

Neil Yorke, director, added: “Richard is a great asset to the company and the experience he brings to the training department will benefit those looking to develop their careers and skills.  We wish him well in this new role.”

The appointment has been made to support the delivery of training courses to the Group’s employees which has grown significantly over the past year. Courses are focused at administration, operations, sales and management roles on a continuous development basis. Managers attend seven courses over a three year period and two workshops each year for every Regional Manager. New starters undertake a comprehensive training programme which is delivered locally at any of the company’s branches.

Over the past twelve months – 16 & lsquo;Foundation Delegate’ courses have been run, training 65 new recruits across 16 sites. In addition, 18 courses have been delivered in Managing Individuals for Success and Managing Successful Teams and six courses on Canvassing Skills. The business launched the Intermediate Apprenticeships in Business Administration in 2012 for all new administrators joining the company.

“Our investment in training is fundamental to our business ethos and strategy.  We aim to up-skill our workforce to help them to become the best they can be at their individual roles.  This has delivered many benefits for both the individual and the business,” added Yorke.
