Gloucestershire-based recruitment specialist awarded accolade & lsquo;Business of the Year 2013’
A full-service recruitment consultancy is celebrating winning a prestigious regional award only months ahead of its 10th Birthday. Gloucestershire-based Expectations! Recruitment Services has been awarded Business of the Year at the Gloucestershire Media Women in Business Awards, 2013 in Cheltenham.
Held at The Hatherley Manor Hotel, the glittering awards ceremony celebrated the best in local, female driven businesses. In addition to winning Business of the Year, Expectations! was also a finalist in the 'Women in the Workplace' category, recognising its all-female business and flexible working practices.
Expectations! currently services the county from its Cheltenham and Gloucester based offices specialising in many commercial sectors including office, managerial, sales, marketing, public sector, technical & engineering, and human resources. The staff uses their existing relationships with potential employers within a wide spectrum of business sectors to ensure that the right candidates are put forward for positions with Gloucestershire’s leading employers.
Directors Jo Long and Victoria Maddock, along with their team of thirteen female staff, proudly accepted the award at the annual ceremony on 21st March, 2013.
Jo comments, "Everyone will tell you I'm usually quite a reserved person, but even I couldn't help a squeek when we won! Looking around the room at all the deserving women in business, I felt so proud to be part of that community! Sometimes, women don't give themselves credit for everything they achieve and they're quick to brush off compliments and undervalue themselves! The Women in Business Awards are an important part of recognising this talent and for me, I am so proud and feel so rewarded that Expectations! is both a finalist and a winner! Congratulations to all the finalists and winners, across all the categories".
Victoria continues, “To think, we're Business of the Year in the same year we're celebrating our 10th anniversary! Looking back, we've come so far, starting from a yellow pages and a telephone ten years ago, we've now got 13 staff across two branches and we're still growing! As a recruitment agency, we often come up against national competitors and we're so proud to be recognised by the local business community. At the end of the day, that's what it's all about, supporting local businesses to boost the Gloucestershire (GlosBiz) economy and build a level of trust and support between them”.
