Burns Carlton and Simply Executive Search join forces  

Burns Carlton has announced a transaction which brings Simply Executive Search into the wider Burns Carlton Group.

It has purchased a stake in the company and the firms will cooperate on their Entrepreneurial Scheme, which offers the next generation of recruitment entrepreneurs a platform on which to build their businesses under the Burns Carlton and Simply Executive Search umbrella. As a part of the merger Michael Petrie, Chairman of Simply Executive Search has also acquired a stake in the Burns Carlton Group and will join the newly formed board of directors, along with Terry Ellis, Group CEO and the other BC shareholders Maduka Okeke – Group Managing Director, Ian Robinson - Finance Director and Richard Ogbogbo – Group Director.

Simply Executive Search is a City-based executive search and contract recruitment firm, whichspecialisesin the financial services and investment banking sectors, as well as financial software houses and diversity inclusion. The company was founded by multi-millionaire Michael Petrie, who has achieved considerable success in the recruitment industry through his Financial Services and diversity inclusionproposition.

Commenting on the deal, Terry Ellis, stated: "Our stake in Simply Executive Search expands Burns Carlton’s proposition into banking and strengthens our position in financial services sector."

He added that “part of the company's strategy is to acquire niche players that will create a strong strategic proposition. Burns Carlton and Simply Executive Search already offer high calibre individuals an exciting career within an ambitious corporate environment. We are also keen to offer talented entrepreneurial individuals an opportunity to follow the route Michael and I took by founding our own recruitment businesses”.

Maduka Okekewho initiated & brokered the deal between the two parties, went on to say, “We are really excited to work with Michael Petrie and his team as we seek to grow and develop both our senior appointments and contracting brands over the next couple of years".

Simply Executive Search was founded in 2010 and has provided global resources to investment banks, inter-dealer brokers and financial software houses, covering professionals within the business and technology fields.

Mr Petrie has over 20 years of experience in the recruitment industry and has also worked in property investment, events and the stock market. He built and sold Bond - one of London's leading night clubs - which also served as a venue for holding exclusive events in the capital, such as Apple’siPhone4 launch and Westfield’s corporate evening. In recognition of his success, Mr Petrie was included in the Power List 100 publication, which profiles influential black African and Caribbean individuals in the UK who have attained a high level of success within their respective professional fields.
