Core-Asset Expands Division

Core-Asset Expands Division

Core-Asset Consulting, a leading independent recruitment company, has expanded its Financial Services division in response to growing demand from both clients and candidates.

Louise Powrie*, previously Associate Director of Core-Asset’s Investment Management division, will take up with immediate effect the position of Director of Financial Services. Louise has been with the company since its launch in 2005. She will have responsibility for overall development and management of the Financial Services division, as well as recruiting for senior roles above &pound65,000 per annum. She will be supported by Emma Cormack*, Paul Mullarkey* and Rory Milne*, who join Core-Asset Consulting this month as recruitment consultants for the Financial Services team.

Emma moves from Change Recruitment, where her focus was on multidiscipline vacancies across investment management and financial services. She brings with her more than eight years’ experience and will be responsible for mid-level financial services roles between &pound45-65,000 per annum. Paul was previously at Keillar Resourcing, where he specialised in recruiting for UK life companies, IFAs and wealth managers. He has over 15 years of financial services experience and will be responsible for &pound30-45,000 p.a. roles. Finally, Rory joins Core-Asset from Hudson, where he accumulated two years’ experience across a number of different sectors, including IT and change management. He will focus on roles from entry level to &pound30,000 p.a.

Commenting on Louise’s appointment, Betsy Williamson, Managing Director of Core-Asset Consulting, said:“Having evaluated the growing complexity of our clients’ recruitment needs, a strategic decision was made to increase the size and the multi-disciplinary expertise of Core-Asset’s Financial Services division. Louise’s appointment has been the first stage in this process. Louise joined Core-Asset in 2005 and since then has held senior positions within our Investment Management division. She’s played a vital part in our continuing development over the last eight years and I’m thrilled that she’s taken up the position of Director of Financial Services. The role will allow Louise to utilise her 13 years’ experience within recruitment in the Scottish market and help further strengthen our proposition within the financial services sector.”

Commenting on the further appointments, Louise said:“With the appointments of Emma, Paul and Rory, my aim is to build a team which mirrors the multi-disciplinary approach of our other divisions – Investment Management, Accounting & Finance and Core-Asset Solutions, our interim, temporary and contract division. It is an exciting time for the Financial Services team, and a great opportunity to add even more value to our existing clients, while also taking our business model to a wider range of clients. A true consultancy approach – one based on service not sales – lies at the heart of Core-Asset’s philosophy. By hiring the best talent for our business we are well-placed to hire the best talent for our clients.”

Earlier this month, Core-Asset Consulting was shortlisted for the & lsquo;Financial Services Company of the Year’ award at this year’s forthcoming Scottish Business Awards. The judging panel has recommended Core-Asset Consulting for the accolade based on its significant contribution to Scotland’s standing as a financial centre.
