Morgan McKinley Backs Irelands Accountancy Sector

Morgan McKinley Backs Ireland’s Accountancy Sector

Leading global recruitment services provider, Morgan McKinley Ireland has announced a three year, six-figure alliance with the Chartered Accountants Ireland Student Societies (CASSI). The agreement signed on 17th May 2013 will see Morgan McKinley provide a range of career supports to student accountants including over 3,000 hours of career development.

Chartered Accountants Ireland has 20,000 members with approximately 25% being students and members of CASSI working towards a career in the accountancy profession. Morgan McKinley’s three year commitment to CASSI reflects a strong jobs market within the accountancy profession and future growth potential in Ireland. CASSI members will now benefit from Morgan McKinley’s consultancy experience, market knowledge and career insights gained from 25 years working in the accountancy and financial services sector.

Morgan McKinley has supported CASSI since 2010 in helping its members navigate career opportunities and to negotiate the jobs market.  The company’s involvement ranges from speaking at seminars on topics such as working abroad, careers evenings, webinars, career boot camps and coaching.

Ed Heffernan, Associate Director, Morgan McKinley Ireland commented:“Morgan McKinley’s relationship with the accountancy sector in Ireland goes back a long way and we have a strong heritage in supporting accountants at all levels in developing their careers.  Our investment in CASSI not only shows a continuation of that support, but also that we have real confidence in the jobs market for the accounting profession in Ireland. Working with CASSI has enabled us to increase the number of future accounting professionals that we can assist and I personally look forward to seeing many more achieve their qualifications and begin their career journeys.”
Ronan O'Loughlin, Director of Education and Training, Chartered Accountants Ireland said:
"Morgan McKinley's sponsorship and expertise will be an invaluable resource in supporting our students in their professional development. The services offered by Morgan McKinley will supplement the educational training provided by the Institute by equipping students with the interview skills, CV optimisation and networks to fully utilise their ACA qualification to compete in the global marketplace."

David Smith, Chair, CASSI added: “This alliance represents a significant breakthrough for CASSI and Morgan McKinley, and extends an existing alliance formed nearly two years ago. Since 2011, I have witnessed first hand the quality service provided by CASSI and Morgan McKinley in bringing careers advice, resources and employment opportunity directly to our students.  Together, our organisations aim to build on this success over the next three years with new initiatives designed to educate our members in remaining competitive in a fast-moving job market and developing skills that will set the foundation for a long and prosperous career as a qualified ACA.  We are delighted to continue to work with Morgan McKinley to ensure our members have the access they need to a wide range of global opportunities and networks as they begin to progress on their chosen career path."

Sourcing accountancy professionals in Ireland is where Morgan McKinley first began operating as a recruitment business. 2013 marks the 25th year anniversary of the company recruiting accountants throughout Ireland as well as in eight other countries across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.

In Ireland Morgan McKinley has 30 consultants who work with the ACA community, and in 2012 alone, 462 qualified accountants accepted employment offers via Morgan McKinley.

As a result of strong relationships across the sector with links to CASSI and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Morgan McKinley has committed to work with accountants and other professionals as a career ally delivering advice, insight and opportunities to last a career lifetime.
