NES Global Talent Comment On North Sea FPSO

Speaking following yesterday’s official keel laying ceremony in Qidong, China, for a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) facility destined for the Western Isles Development project in the North Sea, David Hannah, Client Account Manager (Western Isles Development Project) at NES Global Talent, said: “The Western Isles Development project will pump new life into the North Sea. It’s great to see it taking shape. The North Sea industry ache over skills shortages is also being felt abroad. However, one of the interesting things about this FPSO construction project is that we have been able to place British engineers on a facility destined for UK waters. We have also been able to tap into the talent pool of regional personnel from around Asia, who have many years’ experience in FPSO construction. This is crucial in enabling the transfer of knowledge to local workers.”
