Sprite Services 3 Peak challenge
Sprite Services – 3 Peak challenge
4000m of climbing, 25 miles of terrain and 460 miles of driving – Sounds exhausting, right?
That’s the 3 peak challenge that Jane Forbes Urwin, Sales Manager of Sprite Serviceswill be putting herself through to raise funds for SANDS (Stillbirths & Neonatal Death Charity).
& lsquo;’I’m hoping to raise £500 for SANDS, who support anyone affected by the tragic death of a baby and promote research into helping reduce the loss of babies' lives & lsquo;, said Jane Forbes Urwin.
In order to raise money for this charity, Jane was invited to join the Thorn Baker Team to complete the 3 Peak challenge. The arduous task is to be completed at the end of June, generously funded by Thorn Baker and sponsored by Sprite Services.
On being asked why she chose this charity, Jane said, & lsquo; As a mother of three children myself, I feel that this is an incredibly important charity for a very difficult subject. Giving to this charity is my way of helping friends by giving them much needed support from parents and carers who have had a similar experience & lsquo;’.
& lsquo;’What started as an innocent business lunch with the very persuasive Paul Jackman (no alcohol involved) ended with a firm commitment by myself to join him and his incredible team in climbing Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (The Lakes) and Snowdon (North Wales) in less than 24 hours. & lsquo;’
& lsquo;’ Sleep deprivation during the treacherous trek is probably my greatest fear as we'll be scaling Scafell Pike at approx 1am with torches, but it’s always good to set yourself challenges especially when they are for such a worthy cause” she added.
Jane has been training hard and successfully trekked Snowdon in North Wales and Scafell pike to condition herself for the challenge.
