Alium selects Operation Smile as its chosen charity

Alium Partners, the global provider of senior interim executives, is pleased to announce that it has selected the international children’s medical organisation Operation Smile as its primary charity. This will be the second year of this close association.

Alium is engaging with, and supporting, Operation Smile in a number of ways.  Alongside monthly financial donations, the firm will attend and publicise Operation Smile events, support its social media initiatives, and participate in fundraising initiatives such as the recent Bake A Smile event in May.

Mike Hollin, Managing Partner at Alium, said: “We are proud to place ourselves among the volunteers and supporters that help make Operation Smile’s inspiring work possible. Its goal, to change children’s lives., is admirable and worthwhile and I am delighted that we are continuing to support this fantastic organisation.”

Operation Smile works with a team of more than 6,000 medical volunteers to provide free reconstructive surgery to repair cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.  The organisation has a presence in more than 60 countries worldwide and has provided over 200,000 free surgical procedures to children and young adults since its inception in 1982.

“We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Alium Partners and working to together to transform children’s lives.  It is wonderful to have such support from Alium and its employees” said Alex Talbot, Chief Executive at Operation Smile.

Operation Smile’s work is focused in developing countries where cleft lip and palate surgery is often too expensive, or even unavailable. As well as surgical procedures, the organisation provides access to free dental care, speech therapy and psychological counselling.
