HRGo Charity Initiative Breaks The £200,000 Barrier
This year, HR GO plc Group Non Executive Director, Craig Vidler celebrates 25 years of his famous fly fishing days, raising a total of over £200,000 for charity since the event's inception.
The silver anniversary of the charity fly-fishing event at Dever Springs, Stockbridge took place on Friday 7th June, with over £15,000 being donated to Retail Trust. Retail Trust is the only charity that looks after all three million people working in retail, plus those retired from the sector and its associated businesses. Craig has worked within the Retail recruitment industry for over 40 years so the charity is close to his heart.
National recruitment and business services group, HR GO plc, a major sponsor of the charity event for several years, attended the event cheering on its Head of Retail Development, Retail Link, Tim Elliott, who landed the biggest catch of the day – an impressive 13 pounder!
Dever Springs, which has the reputation of being one of the best fisheries in the UK in terms of size and variety of fish stocked, was the stunning backdrop to the event which was attended by senior retailers spanning the breadth of the retail sector. As well as the competitive edge to the day, guests enjoyed a gala dinner and charity auction to end off the day and raise much welcome funds for the Retail Trust.
Craig comments & lsquo; What a wonderful achievement to have reached the £200,000 milestone in this event’s silver anniversary! A huge heartfelt thanks to the endless generosity of all my friends from the retail industry - we couldn’t have done it without you. It’s truly remarkable that people just keep giving.”
