If you go down to the woods today&hellip

On the 14th June Sales Consultants H&eacutel&egravene Fleisch, Amanda Ogeah and Operational staff Lauren Clough, Joseph Whipp and Bronwynn Joyce from IT & ER P Recruiter Square One Resources volunteered for a day at Little Haven’s, a children’s rest-bite centre based in Rayleigh in Essex.

Following National Volunteering Week which aims to celebrate the contribution that millions of volunteers make every day in communities across the UK, Square One staff spent the day gardening and planting trees in the centre’s 25 acre garden.

About the day Square One’s Bid Manager Bronwynn Joyce commented “Gardening is quite hard work but very rewarding when you see the end result! Actually being on site at Havens really made me see how much of a difference we can make by raising money and volunteering.  It was a great day and I would really encourage everyone to get involved!”

Havens Hospices couldn’t exist without the support of the community, both in terms of fundraising and volunteering. Aiming to raise &pound100,000 every week to care for seriously ill children and adults volunteers are vital in helping to save the organisation over &pound2 million per annum.

Tim Harlow sales Director says

“Whether these involve active participation or fundraising Square One is pleased to support our staff to get involved in projects undertaken by a registered charity through our paid day release scheme. Apart from the great sense of pride Square One staff gain from taking part in a volunteering day it also encourages the development of soft skills vital to succeed in a recruitment environment, such as team work.”
