Recruitment firm on cue to sponsor snooker star Ricky Walden

Snooker star Ricky Walden has agreed a sponsorship deal with gap personnel, as the recruitment firm looks to strengthen its relationship with the world number eight.

The partnership will see Ricky sport the gap logo on his waistcoat at several major tournaments over the coming months – including the UK Championship in York later this year.

It follows gap’s decision to support a recent charity snooker exhibition organised by Ricky, which helped to raise &pound15,000 for the Emmy Taylor Fund.

Ricky, a 2013 Betfair World Championship semi-finalist, said he was pleased to be linking up with one of the UK’s largest industrial recruitment companies.

He added: “I was very grateful for gap’s support during my recent charity fundraiser, so it’s nice to be working with them again. Their support is really appreciated and I look forward to developing a long lasting relationship”

“I’ve got a busy year ahead of me on the circuit, and will be looking to build on my success in the World Championship, so hopefully you’ll be seeing a lot of me and gap!”

Headquartered in Wrexham, North Wales, gap personnel has undergone rapid growth to become one of the UK’s 10 largest industrial labour providers.

Last year it provided staffing solutions to more than 1,200 clients. The company is the owner and sponsor of gap Connah’s Quay Nomads FC, the Welsh Premier League football club.

gap also supports several other sporting organisations, community groups and charities across England and Wales.

As well as the UK Championship, Ricky will be wearing the gap logo during several domestic tournaments – including the Champion of Champions contest and the 2014 Snooker Shoot-Out – plus international competitions in Holland, Belgium and Germany.

Gary Dewhurst, founder and chief executive officer (CEO) at gap personnel, said: “Ricky is an extremely talented sportsman with a bright future ahead of him.

“He is the consummate professional and we’re delighted to be associated with him.”
