The skies the limit for Square One Resources’ Amanda Ogeah having taken part in a tandem skydive to raise money for charity.
The Senior Consultant for recruitment specialists Square One jumped out of a plane at 12,000 feet in a tandem skydive raising over £500 for local hospice, Havens. The sky dive also commemorated the hospice’s 30th anniversary.
Amanda says: “I was feeling relaxed until the plane was up in the air, and I suddenly realised what I was about to do.
I screamed all the way to the ground, but it was an amazing experience and I am so happy I was able to raise enough money to make a difference for Havens. However, perhaps I will keep my feet on the ground for my next challenge”.
The event was the latest in the series of initiatives organised by Square One to support Havens Hospices. Fair Havens is an adult hospice which opened its doors in June 1983 and since then has cared for over 20,000 patients. In 1998 Little Havens Children’s Hospice, Essex was officially opened and has cared for over 1,000 children, their siblings and families so far. The charity is mostly funded by the community, and aims to raise over £100,000 every week.
Square One Sales Director Tim Harlow commented “Havens Hospice perform an important role in offering a valuable service to those with life-limiting illnesses. We are delighted to be supporting such a worthwhile cause”.
Amanda set up a Just Giving page http://www.justgiving.com/amandaogeahwhich contains further details. All proceeds raised from the sponsorship goes to Havens Hospices.
