WHERE THERE’S A WILL THERE’S A WAY
Glasgow-born Will Miller from Dumbarton has been appointed Implementation Manager for one of the UK’s leading industrial and driving recruitment agencies.
Will’s mobile role with the Yorkshire-based Transline Group, will take him throughout the UK wherever he is needed to handle new start-ups and site growth.
Transline is currently the UK’s fastest growing recruitment company in its sector and has reported its fifth successive year of double digit growth. It projects sales of £ 85million for 2013.
The company was set up by Managing Directors Paul Beasley and Jon Taylor, starting from a single office in Halifax, Yorkshire, in 1998. It now runs an 80-site UK-wide network as well as having operations in Ireland, Eastern Europe, Spain and, recently, Canada.
Will Miller, who reports to industrial team head Chris Birkby, moves from recruitment company & lsquo;Industrious’ where he was Contract Manager running a recruitment branch for a major retail site at Gourock in Scotland.
Now he will be Transline’s first on-site representative for new clients – tasked with understanding the business, building relationships and training new teams to ensure that client staffing requirements are serviced.
“I’ll be dealing with a fresh set of requirements for each new client,“ he says. “Each project will bring new challenges to test my adaptability and I’ll look forward to every one of them.
“I had heard a lot about Transline and we share the same drive for success. I come from a very process-driven background and my focus has always being on careful planning to ensure all projects are met and delivered on time and on budget.
“Transline may have many contracts but it acts as one single complete business and, with that approach, I can only see it grow even bigger.”
Will was born in Glasgow, moved to Dumbarton when he was 14 years-old, and went to school at Knightswood Secondary, Hermitage Academy and Clydebank College.
His previous recruitment experience includes a period in the Middle East as TXM’s Kuwait-based Operations Manager for their client the United States Army. Will fulfilled this military contract, covering two countries, managing accommodation, travel and transport for 600 staff, as well as staffing needs and issues.
“Will is well qualified to be involved with all the many different sides of Transline’s business,” says the Group’s Managing Directors Paul Beasley and Jon Taylor. “He’s one of the focused front-liners that enable us to consistently go the extra mile for our clients.
“He is calm and collected in a crisis as well as being focussed and determined for both Transline and himself to succeed. He detects problems very quickly and, where there’s a need to resolve or adapt , he ensures that client expectations are always satisfied.
“And he’s a brilliant judge of character &hellip which always helps in recruitment.”
Away from Transline, Will is a football coach for Dumbarton Riverside where he helps youngsters under 10 to develop not only in footballing terms but also their personalities and social skills. He is currently completing his Scottish Football Association coaching qualification.
