During the week of July 8–14, 2013, temporary and contract employment expanded by 6.26% increasing the index to a value of 94. This type of rebound in staffing employment is typical following a payroll period that includes a federal holiday—in this case the July 4 Independence Day holiday. Typically, staffing employment peaks between mid-November and mid-December each year, after which it dramatically declines for several weeks before turning upward in mid-January.
