Comensura awarded place on Government Procurement Service Locum Doctors Framework

Comensura, a market leading supply management specialist, has been awarded a place on Government Procurement Service’s Framework (GPS) Agreement for Locum Doctors (including Locum GPs).

Comensura’s place in Lot 1 is for the provision of neutral vendor managed service for temporary and fixed term locum doctors (including locum GPs).

Jamie Horton, Managing Director of Comensura said “We are delighted to have been awarded a place by GPS on the Locum Doctors Framework. By providing a neutral vendor lot in this new framework, GPS offers an entirely new and refreshing dimension for NHS Trusts and Bodies seeking management of their staffing needs. Our vendor neutral model as well as our ability to effectively manage the NHS Trusts’ recruitment agency supply chains means Comensura is well placed to provide centralised visibility and control of recruitment spend.”

The framework provides for the supply of locum doctors, covering the full range of grades and specialities of hospital doctors including accident and emergency, anaesthetics, dental, general medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, pathology, psychiatry, radiology, surgical as well as general practitioners (GPs). The framework is designed principally for the NHS, but is accessible by all central government departments and wider public sector organisations.

The agreement supports the government’s aim to deliver significant, sustainable savings for the taxpayer by centralising, standardising and aggregating procurement spend for common goods and services.
