National Locums announces framework win

National Locums, the Milton Keynes-based specialist recruitment agency supplying locum doctors and medical staff, has today announced that it has been appointed to a major government Framework.

A Framework is the procurement system used by the government to ensure significant and sustained savings for the taxpayer.

National Locums led a consortium which had to demonstrate the ability to meet stringent NHS employment verifications and quality standards, robust systems for continuously reviewing performance, financial stability and adherence to regulatory checks. 

The consortium, called Medic Supply, successfully bid to the Government Procurement Service (GPS) to supply locum doctors and GPs to NHS hospitals throughout Britain.

Says National Locums managing director David Cook: “This is a terrific achievement, and a testimony to the quality of our team in sourcing and supplying outstanding locums and GPs, often at extremely short notice, and our ability to meet the most exacting standards specified by the government”.

The Framework initially runs for two years, and Medic Supply, which also includes other specialist medical sector recruiters, Provide Medical and Medilink Consulting, has now become part of a network of agencies used by government to recruit high quality medical staff.

National Locums is an independent family business, founded by brothers David and Glenn Cook, and was only established five years ago. Last year, it succeeded with bids for two other major Frameworks to provide the NHS and independent hospitals with locum doctors.
