RBLI offers recruitment agencies a free opportunity to improve the interview skills and motivation
RBLI offers recruitment agencies a free opportunity to improve the interview skills and motivation of their veteran, ex-armed forces candidates
RBLI (Royal British Legion Industries) welcomes referrals of Veterans from recruitment agencies who have unemployed, ex-Service personnel as candidates on their registers.
Any unemployed Veteran, no matter how long ago they served, nor how briefly (providing they completed their basic training), can qualify for a grant funded place on the RBLI LifeWorks course. It is open to all ranks across all 3 Services.
The RBLI Lifeworks programme aims to give service personnel and veterans the tools they need to get a job and not just any job but one that is right for them. In addition to addressing all the usual perceived obstacles to employment (self worth, self esteem, fear of failure etc), RBLI LifeWorks organises a Vocational Assessment that aims to marry up an individual's skills, interests and abilities so that they can focus on those employment areas where they are likely to achieve not just any job but a sustainable job. Although RBLI normally run courses for 10 delegates at a time, the course is individualized in that it recognizes that different people will have different needs. RBLI LifeWorks can boast an extraordinary success rate in moving veterans back into employment. The course is usually held at the RBLI modern training centre at Aylesford, Kent (2 courses per month) although they have run courses in Edinburgh and Preston so far this year and are about to run another in Catterick in September. Tuition is organized by professional qualified leaders in the appropriate fields.
The RBLI LifeWorks course is free, as all tuition and accommodation costs are covered by donations from their sponsors, and very often food costs too. It is a 5 days, Monday-Friday event and the next courses are scheduled for weeks commencing 5 August, 9 September, 23 September, 30 September, 7 October and 21 October.
Recruitment agencies interested in finding out how RBLI can help them place their Veteran candidates more successfully as well as motivating them for success, and at no cost to the agency or the candidate, should contact Geoffrey Dodds at RBLI LifeWorks on 0800 319 6844
