Sheffield FC signs up recruitment firm as sponsor

An industrial recruitment firm with a strong presence in Yorkshire has put pen to paper on a sponsorship deal with Sheffield FC.

The exclusive agreement will see gap personnel become the recruitment sector partner to the world’s oldest football club for the forthcoming 2013/14 season.

gap, the UK’s eighth largest industrial labour provider, has a well-established branch at Castle Square in Sheffield city centre – part of a national network of high-street branches.

Within Yorkshire, the gap group also has sites in Leeds, Castleford and Wakefield.

Nationally, gap personnel places and payrolls 7,000 temporary workers a week and provides staffing solutions to more than 1,200 companies annually.

Clients include manufacturers, food producers, warehousing and logistics firms and recycling / waste management companies.

Sheffield resident Matthew Hull, operations director (east UK) at gap personnel, said: “Sheffield FC is a fantastic club with amazing history and heritage.

“We’re excited to be entering into what I’m sure will prove to be a mutually beneficial relationship.”

Sheffield FC, formed on 24 October 1857, is officially recognised by FIFA as the world’s oldest football club.

It is one of only two clubs in the world to hold a FIFA Order of Merit – the other being Spanish giant Real Madrid.

The Evo-Stik League First Division South outfit plays its home matches at The Coach and Horses Stadium on Sheffield Road, Dronfield.

Club chairman Richard Tims said:

“We are proud to announce a partnership with gap personnel, we feel the company as well as being progressive and forward thinking share our values of integrity, respect and community. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership”.
