Bromak grows civils business

Built environment recruitment and training consultancy Bromak is growing its business in the civil engineering sector as it continues its expansion.

Bromak Civil Solutions (BCS) is widening its services to those clients in quarrying, landfill, highways construction and maintenance, power and utilities and already works with organisations including Balfour Beatty, Colas, Tarmac, SITA, I&H Brown, C A Blackwells and AE Yates.

Specialist civil engineering recruiter Labour Trades Limited merged with Bromak last year and BCS was formed as a dedicated division of Bromak, led by Director David Stevens.

The division has been growing ever since and expects to achieve sales of between &pound1m and &pound1.5m over the next 12 months.

Dave Brooks, managing director of Bromak, said: “We are seeing an increasing need for recruitment and training in civil engineering skill sets.

“This is a sector which needs a level of quality support as we move out of recession and businesses recruit for recovery and expansion.”

The development of services in the civil engineering sector follows the opening of new Bromak offices in Durham to serve the north east and Watford for Bromak’s south east customers.

The expanding Bromak network also includes Liverpool, Sheffield, Lichfield and the company’s headquarters at Bolton.

This year has been a successful year for Bromak, which has posted its most successful financial results to date, with a turnover of &pound10 million, up 11 per cent on the previous year. The company, founded in 2003, employs 40 people and is looking towards further expansion.
