Driver Hire Gets The 'Spa' Treatment

The leading transport and logistics recruiter, Driver Hire, got the 'Spa' treatment last weekend, thanks to its equity investment backers, LDC. LDC is a founding investor in the Marussia F1 Team, and provided Driver Hire with the opportunity to display their company logo on the rear wing end plates of the Marussia F1 Team cars for the 2013 Formula 1&trade Shell Belgian Grand Prix. 

“Seeing our brand feature on the global stage through initiatives like this is something Driver Hire franchisees and staff can be proud of and helps reinforce the credibility of the business,” says Chris Chidley, Driver Hire’s Chief Executive. “We were delighted to be given this opportunity by LDC.” 

Based in Banbury, the Marussia F1 Team is one of the newer teams in Formula One&trade. The team races in a distinctive Red and Black livery with drivers Max Chilton from Great Britain and Jules Bianchi from France. 

Chris added: “LDC is one of the UK's leading mid-market private equity houses. Their decision to invest in Driver Hire in 2011 was a major vote of confidence in our business and its potential. This kind of opportunity is a real benefit of being part of the LDC family of companies.”

As for the event itself, Spa proved to be a story of two halves for the Marussia F1 Team. Saturday’s qualifying session was a spectacular success, with a clever strategic call in tricky weather conditions seeing the both cars reach the second round of qualifying for the first time – Jules Bianchi lining up 15th and Max Chilton 16th. The race proved to be more of a challenge, both drivers losing positions more quickly than they had expected in the early laps. John Booth, Team Principal said: “We simply need to go back and regroup and attempt to extract as much performance out of the current package as possible before the next race in Monza.”
