National Locums Appoints And Celebrates

National Locums, the fast-growing Milton Keynes-based specialist recruitment agency supplying locum doctors and medical staff throughout the UK, has appointed a new business development manager and is celebrating the success of two members of staff winning key professional qualifications.

New business development manager Rebecca McKenna, 25, comes to National Locums as the latest step in a career spent entirely in the medical recruitment industry, initially in candidate sourcing and latterly as a key accounts team leader.

Following the announcement that National Locums has been appointed to a major Framework - the procurement system used by the government to ensure significant and sustained savings for the taxpayer and the NHS – Rebecca will be introducing the company to NHS Trusts and hospitals throughout the country.

Meanwhile, National Locums consultants Michael Parkin and Nicola Bonwick have both achieved their Certificate in Recruitment Practice (CertRP), a key qualification from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).

Michael, 26, a former professional goalkeeper for Torquay United and a skills coach at MK Dons’ Centre of Excellence, joined National Locums two-and-a-half years ago as a graduate trainee.

Nicola Bonwick, 33, has eight years experience in recruitment, including spells with the NHS, recruiting consultants in oncology and cardiology, as well as High Street recruitment firm Adecco.

Says National Locums managing director David Cook: “We have grown extremely rapidly since we founded the company in 2009, and we are committed to hiring the best people and investing in training and development.

“Our focus on excellence is one of the principal reasons that we have won three major agreements in the past year allowing us to provide locum doctors and senior medical staff to the NHS as well as private hospitals.”
