BIE Group Adds Three
BIE Group, which completed its management buy-out (MBO) in May, has made three new senior appointments, two of them equity partners. The two new partners are Simon Moore and Emma-Claire Kavanagh, both of whom have taken equity stakes alongside BIE Group’s existing MBO team of Rob Walker, Ben Hawkins and Gordon Whyte. The third appointment is Philip Grinhaff, a senior finance executive search specialist. BIE Group chief executive Rob Walker says an early goal following the MBO deal was to put in place a high-calibre executive team.
“These three senior appointments are all well-known top-performers in their respective fields. Their arrival is a key milestone on our mission to build the best executive search and interim management practices in the industry”, says Walker. “It says something about our reputation and our potential when people of this calibre choose to join BIE.”
In a separate move, BIE is also establishing an office in South Africa, driven by rising demand for management talent by multinational corporations.
“We see South Africa as both a country currently under-served by existing firms and a springboard to opportunities in neighbouring countries”, comments Walker. “There’s a fast growing global drive to repatriate professional people to Africa, supported by some of the world’s best-known employers. We intend to play a part in that.”
Simon Moore’s arrival at BIE reunites him with former colleague Ben Hawkins. Both specialise in resourcing major change and transformation projects using senior level interim executives. Emma-Claire Kavanagh has 17 years’ experience in executive recruitment and has spent the last decade focusing exclusively on interim management for the Human Resources function. In July she was named one of 12 & lsquo;star provider consultants’ by The Institute of Interim Management, alongside BIE consultants Steve Dengel and Gordon Whyte. Philip Grinhaff joined the executive recruitment industry in 1996, having spent the earlier part of his career working as an accountant in financial services and investment banking. Over the course of the last 17 years Phil has worked for a number of global executive recruitment companies in London and Sydney, Australia. Prior to joining BIE he ran his own boutique executive search firm, exclusively focused on senior finance appointments.
