Calian wins a $14m contract to provide e-learning services
Calian Technologies has been awarded a contract valued at $14 million by the Department of National Defence (DND) for omnibus courseware production services.
Calian, along with subcontractors Bluedrop Performance Learning Inc. and Valcom Consulting Group Inc, will be developing and supporting courseware projects by providing e-learning production, distribution and related support services to the Army Learning Support Centre (ALSC).
The contract starts in October 2013 and will run to the 31st of March 2016.
Kevin Ford president of Calian’s BTS division said, “We are thrilled with the award of the ALSC contract as it extends our long-standing relationship with the Canadian Army. Through the award of the ALSC contract, Calian and its subcontractor team will employ approximately 60 highly qualified employees in Atlantic Canada. This important win highlights our strengths in e-learning services and further demonstrates our growing market share in this arena as well as our ability to assemble and manage a quality team."
Calian and its subcontractors have been providing e-learning services to ALSC since 2007, and this contract expands upon those services with the addition of a full cadre of e-learning support services.
Calian employs over 2,400 people with offices and projects that span Canada, U.S. and international markets. Speciality services include the provision of business and technology services to industry and government in the health, operations and maintenance, IT services and training domains as well as the design, manufacturing and maintenance of complex systems to the communications and defence sectors.
