&pound500,000 Dragon Investment For Your Recruitment Start-Up

Recruitment expert and former Dragons’ Den star James Caan is offering up to &pound500,000 to invest in the next recruitment entrepreneur. This is a unique opportunity for the right person to receive not only financial backing, but also the support and mentorship of Caan and his market leading company Hamilton Bradshaw.

Caan is one of the UK’s foremost recruitment entrepreneurs, having made his fortune through the global, multi-million pound successes of Alexander Mann and Humana International. His private equity firm Hamilton Bradshaw, established in 2004, currently backs 20 recruitment companies across 18 different industries, with a combined turnover of over &pound275m. This has led to them being ranked as one of the Top 30 recruitment companies in the world and Caan is now on the lookout for his next investment.

Applicants should send in a 500 word outline of their recruitment business proposition, 500 words on why they are the right person for Caan to back, as well as a full bio of themselves and any team members. The deadline for applications is Friday 18th October and should be emailed to with the subject heading & lsquo;Recruitment Entrepreneur’. Those who are successful will be invited to a presentation week from the 11th-15th November, after which a decision will be made.

The right entrepreneur will be:

• A top performer in recruitment, with a proven track record

• A strong leader with the ability to identify, attract and inspire great people

• Able to build strong relationships with both clients and colleagues

• An expert in your sector with a deep understanding of your market

• Ready to take your career to the next level and set up on your own, with the confidence you can grow and run a business of scale

Most famous for his stint on the hit BBC show Dragons’ Den, where he invested &pound1m across 14 companies, Caan says that as ever, he is investing in people, not just ideas.

“I strongly believe that people make businesses a success, particularly when it comes to recruitment, so I am looking for somebody who is passionate, has the confidence to take their career to the next level, as well as great expertise in their sector. Of the 20 recruitment companies currently part of the HB portfolio, 6 of them have been started up from scratch, with over &pound100m revenue in 3 years. Every single one of these have benefitted from our experience as well as our funds.”
