Fircroft strengthens management team

Equistone-backed Fircroft, the technical and engineering recruitment specialist, has strengthened the board of directors with the appointment of Stuart Hall as chief finance officer (CFO).

Hall previously worked as CFO at Pace, a global electronics consumer company, where he played a pivotal role in making the business a world leader within its industry. He helped the West Yorkshire-based firm increase revenues from c$300million to c$2.4billion organically and through acquisitions.

Prior to this Stuart worked as CFO for Cardiff-based IQE, a manufacturer of compound semiconductor epitaxy, from 2003 to 2007, and held several finance director roles at companies including telecoms and internet business Energis and one of Europe’s leading electronic subcontractors Race Electronics. 

Fircroft, which is headquartered in Warrington, has a presence in over 45 countries, was founded in 1970 by John Johnson and originally serviced the oil and gas companies in the North Sea. The ambitious technical and engineering recruitment specialist saw a 32% increase in turnover in 2012 compared with 2011 as sales climbed to &pound725m (US$1.19bn).

The company was was backed in June 2012 by Equistone Partners Europe in a deal worth &pound140million.
