NEST and ALP help employers navigate their automatic enrolment duties

NEST is working with the Association of Labour Providers (ALP) to help labour providers and employers in the food and agricultural sectors navigate their automatic enrolment duties. As part of the commitment to their members, ALP has joined forces with NEST to help employers understand the process of enrolling temporary workers into an automatic enrolment scheme.

Richard Bartlett, head of market development at NEST, commented “Employers can do a great deal to make meeting their duties as pain-free as possible. If you already have a workplace pension provider, our advice is not to assume that your existing provider will be able to help all of your workers, start a conversation with them early on to see what they can do.

“Research shows that only 15% of small employers are able to correctly identify the types of workers who need to be assessed for automatic enrolment. It is information gaps like these that we want to help employers understand.”

NEST and ALP are running a series of seminars to help employers in the recruitment and agriculture sectors navigate their duties.

David Camp, Director at ALP said & lsquo;Having been working with NEST, ALP understands the challenges facing the industry and we want to help employers in our sector meet their new duties in a pain-free and easy way. Our automatic enrolment road shows are part of our commitment to members and the industry to provide high quality information and services’.
