Alium Partners appoints Education Practice head

Sally and her team are launching the Alium Partners Education Practice to help higher educational institutions (HEIs) meet the demands of the rapidly changing sector, particularly in higher education.  The practice is placing senior interim executives in educational institutions to oversee transformational change management programmes.

Sally Wilson, head of the Education Practice at Alium Partners, says, “It is an exciting time to join Alium Partners.  The UK education sector is entering into a period of change and transformation from what has been effectively service delivery supported through public funding into semi public funded entities with a new focus on students as fee paying customers, third party income and better, more efficient service delivery. As with many other public service industries that have undergone change in their funding profiles, this will undoubtedly create new challenges as HEIs look to innovative business models to deliver the university of the 21st Century.

An opening up of the market for higher education courses is introducing new market forces into the economics of educating our future generations. This is a radical change and many institutions will be looking carefully at what this means for them in a globalised education arena.”

The Alium Partners Education Practice services universities, further education colleges, local educational authorities, specialist NDPBs and learning and development services.

Alium Partners’ interim management professionals provide services to education providers in areas such as commercialisation of offering and market growth plans, strategic international development, student/customer management and experience, BPO and shared services, asset management, IT and capital investment plans.

Sally brings to the position a wealth of experience in both public and private sectors in services delivery.  Early in her career, she operated as a Marie Curie Fellow and lecturer in international relations, before going on to gain 15 years of experience delivering transformational change management at some of UK’s leading firms.

Nigel Peters, Managing Partner at Alium Partners, says: “We are delighted to welcome Sally on board at Alium Partners.  She has an impressive track record in change management and deep insight into the challenges facing education providers.  We look forward to working closely with her to ensure the success of the Education Practice.”
