Fitness first at Outsource UK
Staff at Outsource UK’s Swindon office are being treated to running tips by professionals in a bid to keep employee motivation up.
The company branch is offering the fitness incentive in conjunction with its new running club, where trainers from Slinn Allstars running club will be on hand to help with technique.
The initiative follows the success of the lunchtime yoga sessions introduced earlier this year at the Swindon office.
Six employees will initially test out the scheme.
Claire Harrison, an account manager at the company, has just completed week four of the ten-week beginners running course. She said, “I’ve wanted to take up running for a while but find that I’m often too tired to think about doing something so challenging once I’ve got in from work ”, said Claire. Being able to do this straight after work, together with my work colleagues, is great and I’m really pleased that already we seem to be making progress”.
Staff with something less strenuous in mind can continue to take advantage of the lunchtime yoga sessions.
Paul Jameson, managing director of Outsource, said, “I believe it’s important for employers to encourage staff to keep fit and healthy and to facilitate them in being able to do this. It also makes good business sense as inevitably the company will benefit from having more motivated employees and less lost time due to poor health.”
