USG People changes senior management structure

The implementation of the strategic redesign announced in 2011 has considerably reduced the size and complexity of the company over the past few years. The general staffing activities in six countries were recently sold and the professional labels were united under USG Professionals. As a result the management structure of the company can be simplified and more decentralised.  

That is why the decision has been taken to reduce the size of the executive board from four to two members, with the executive board consisting of CEO Rob Zandbergen and CFO Leen Geirnaerdt from 1 November 2013. 

This change in the senior management structure means that the positions of Albert Jan Jongsma, chief corporate officer (CCO), and Eric de Jong, chief operational officer (COO), will cease to exist on 1 November 2013. Jongsma has agreed in close consultation with the supervisory board to leave the company with effect from 1 December, while de Jong will resign from his position as COO but will remain associated with the company in the role as special advisor to the executive board until at least the end of 2014. 

USG People has expressed its gratefulness to both Jongsma and de Jong, for their many years of service, their dedication and loyalty, and their important contribution to the growth and development of the organisation, with notable mention of the past few challenging years. 

CEO Rob Zandbergen will take over de Jong’s responsibilities, while CFO Leen Geirnaerdt will assume Mr. Jongsma’s tasks.  

In tandem with the senior management changes USG People has downsized the corporate organisation and will also introduce a more decentralised management system.
