comparethemarket.com, one of the UK’s leading price comparison websites, is offering ten hopefuls the chance to embark upon a career within its highly successful IT team during a unique one day challenge taking place on Friday 8th November 2013.
The company is looking to recruit a number of software engineers to work at their headquarters in Cambridgeshire.
Programming and code enthusiasts are being encouraged to enrol on the one day event, titled & lsquo;Job in a Day’, which will see participants showcase their coding expertise during a day of fun and engaging IT challenges.
At the end of the day, successful candidates will be offered a job on the spot and be given their own iPad. All candidates will be given a Raspberry Pi, simply for attending.

Nick Jerman, HR director at comparethemarket.com, added: “In today’s climate it is getting increasingly difficult for people, with limited work experience to get jobs, and this initiative will give recent graduates and, talented individuals in the Cambridgeshire area, a chance to accelerate their careers.
“No previous work experience is required we are looking for a passion for code and programming. Our comprehensive training programme will enable successful candidates to be trained on the job using a clear and structured framework based on technical skills and behaviours.
“A Software Engineer can expect to start on a salary of £25k and could be promoted to Senior Software Engineer within just 18 months, earning in the region of £40k, depending on skills and experience.”
The ten shortlisted candidates will be selected following CV reviews and telephone interviews and will be invited to attend the open day, run by comparethemarket.com, in Cambridgeshire on Friday 8th November 2013.
