Eden Scott backs charity supporting young business talent

A Scottish charity is working hard to support young and talented people with a business mindset.

The Saltire Foundation, an independent charity, was established in 2009 to hone the business skills and entrepreneurial drive of Scotland’s talent, creating the next generation of business leaders.

The initiative is being sponsored by leading Scottish recruitment business, Eden Scott, as an Inaugural Ruby Corporate Partner.

The foundation and Eden Scott feel that as Scotland’s business and entrepreneurial ecosystem continues to improve and businesses are regaining confidence to recruit again, it is important to support and sustain the country’s next set of business leaders in order to transform Scottish companies into renowned international businesses.

The sponsorship involves Eden Scott mentoring David Manson and Liz Watson. Manson is a final year student at the University of Strathclyde studying for a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and Watson has over 10 years’ experience of the manufacturing sector.

Eden Scott recognises that The Saltire initiative is immensely important to the career development of Scotland’s brightest minds and potential leaders. The sponsorship goes beyond supporting the initiative financially.

Michelle Lownie, director of Eden Scott, consults and assists the programme with their acquisition and assessment strategies, in order to find, fuel and spark Scotland’s finest talent potential.

Saltire Foundation CEO Sandy Kennedy stated “The Saltire Foundation and Eden Scott share a common commitment to sourcing talent and helping to grow with a winning team.  Through this partnership we are able to utilise Eden Scott’s expertise to help build the next generation of confident, ambitious, entrepreneurial and global Scottish business leaders”.

Director of Eden Scott Guy Martin commented “It’s a pleasure to be partnering with The Saltire Foundation to support and nurture Scotland’s talent of tomorrow. Eden Scott fully understands the distinct entrepreneurial needs of Scotland’s start-up, SME & larger company landscape, and we strive to further position ourselves at the heart of this “war for talent” and hope to help Saltire, and indeed the country, capitalise on the exciting times ahead for Scottish industry”.
