Founder and chairman of MRINetwork dies
Alan Schonberg, the founder and chairman of MRINetwork, has died.
Schonberg was a pioneer of the staffing sector, building the global brand MRINetwork, a subsidiary of CDI Corp.
Schonberg founded MRINetwork in 1965, initially providing search and recruitment services in the salary brackets just under those of the traditional headhunters.
The company subsequently franchised its business model and Philadelphia-based CDI Corp. acquired all outstanding shares of MRINetwork in 1972 to make it a fully owned subsidiary.
In the 90’s MRI acquired the UK based business Humana International from its owners Doug Bugie and James Caan and Alan Schonberg was one of the speakers at RI’s first ever World Leaders In Recruitment Conference. His career with MRINetwork’s spanned 35 years the company’s CEO a post he left in 2000 to become chairman, and three years later, chairman emeritus.
