Peoplebank launches charity scheme
The scheme includes offices in each of Australia’s major capitals.
Through the Workplace Giving program, Peoplebank is providing staff the opportunity to make regular and one-off donations, from their pre-tax salary, to charities of their choice.
Peoplebank will match staff contributions dollar-for-dollar (up to $25K pa), a pledge that is likely to add up to tens of thousands.
The program – trialled across Peoplebank’s sites and now formally available to all part and full-time staff – has already seen dozens of staff commit to making regular charitable donations. Donations are made by Peoplebank directly to the employee’s selected charities, with no administrative cost.
Michelle Cooper, Peoplebank’s National People and Performance Manager described the Workplace Giving program as a & lsquo;win-win’ for employees and charitable organisations alike.
“For employees, Workplace Giving provides a tax-effective way to make donations – without having to retain donation receipts or wait until tax time to claim deductions. It’s a great way for staff to donate: as their contributions are supercharged through group efforts and through Peoplebank’s matched donation,” Cooper said.

Copper added, “And for the charities we support, the program provides a reliable source of funds with no additional administrative costs.
“More broadly, Peoplebank is investing in this Workplace Giving program to help boost the meaning of our work. Through this program, we are helping staff share a sense that by working at Peoplebank, they are actively helping to make the world a better place.
“Peoplebank is delighted to commit to the Workplace Giving program, and we are delighted that it is being embraced by staff. As the months go by, we will be looking forward to matching – dollar for dollar - our staff’s commitment to making a difference.”
