Talent International acquires IT consultancy
Leading global IT recruitment group Talent International has continued its cutting-edge approach and diversified its business model, moving into the IT consulting space by acquiring Western Australian IT consultancy Agile Logic.
This exciting initiative for Talent International is the first step in an aggressive five-year plan to create a market-leading IT consultancy service across the APAC region and is designed to complement Talent International’s highly successful IT recruitment business.
“This is a major move in our industry and we will develop our IT consultancy offering over the coming months in line with international expansion, and are looking forward to becoming an important player in the sector. Agile Logic will operate as a quite separate brand and business with its own management structure,” said Talent International founder and managing director Richard Earl.
Agile Logic opened in 2007, has 14 technology consultants and specialises primarily in Java Enterprise solutions and BI consulting.
“It’s a great team that has successfully delivered a significant number of projects within budget and on time across eight WA state government departments, as well as projects within the mining and resources, finance, and telco sectors,” said Earl.
Agile Logic director, Michael Mok, will remain in WA with a remit to further develop the offering in the state.
“I’m pleased to say that Michael has fully embraced the potential and vision of the wider Talent International business and has received shares in the company,” said Earl.
“Talent International’s single-minded focus on investing in innovation and people sets them apart and we are looking forward to building a bigger, highly successful, dynamic business with them,” Mok said.
“The entire team of in-house technology specialists and consultants is excited about what the future holds and they are all delighted to be coming across as part of the arrangement.”
A yet-to-be-appointed executive general manager will head up the business with a brief to roll out the model across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Former Talent International WA general manager Lincoln Campbell has already joined Agile Logic as an executive consultant and will be responsible for various commercial matters including Business Development.
Jenny Levy, a non-executive director of Talent International and former CIO and CTO of Perpetual and Westpac will be an executive director of Agile Logic and assume responsibility for risk and governance.
“Many of our clients have encouraged and requested an expanded level of service so we are delighted that we can now provide them with a more diverse and flexible offering,” said Earl.
