Alium Partners appoints head of new Media & Entertainment Practice
The Alium Partners Media & Entertainment Practice provides human resource solutions across media asset management, content, digital media, social networking, e-commerce and SEO services.
Weidman is launching Alium’s M&E practice at a moment of rapid change within the industry, when the growing dominance of digital technology is forcing companies to reconsider traditional management and operations models.
Weidman says, “It is an exciting time to be launching an M&E practice at Alium Partners. Many organisations are challenged by the nature and pace of change that the rise of digital requires. For example, many media companies need help transitioning to online consumer platforms, transforming divisions which are outdated and unprofitable in the digital age, or bringing in new talent to drive and oversee strategic change .”
“Putting-in highly experienced interims is often a very effective solution for firms as they can be brought in at very short notice, normally in just a few days, to deliver specific targets within a particular timeframe.”
Weidman has spent over 15 years in business leadership roles in the global media and entertainment industry. Past roles include: CEO/President of two production/production companies, General Manager of Content Discovery at Redbee Media, VP of Worldwide Operations at Avid, and VP of Business Development and Operational Improvements at Technicolor. Kathy also managed her own successful US-based interim executive firm for 11 years, advising on a range of challenging transformations in the media industry.
Mike Hollin, Managing Partner at Alium Partners, says: “We are delighted to welcome Kathy to Alium Partners. Kathy has worked with some of the biggest names in the media industry, and her impressive background will be a tremendous asset to Alium as we work to build a successful Media & Entertainment Practice.”
